Determination of organochlorine pesticides in water using GC combined with dispersive solid-phase extraction with single-walled carbon nanotubes

Summary In this study, single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were used to determine organochlorine pesticides (chlorothalonil and pentachloronitrobenzene) in water using dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE), followed by gas chromatography (GC). The optimal adsorption conditions determined analyzing the effect of adsorbent dosage, time, eluent type volume, elution time. Under conditions, a good linearity was obtained at concentrations from 10 400 μg L −1 with correlation coefficients ranging 0.9991 0.9986. limits detection (LOD) for two 0.025 0.049 , quantification (LOQ) 0.080 0.156 respectively. accuracy proposed method evaluated measuring recovery spiked samples, which ranged 82.5% 110.5% spiking levels 0.5–10 relative standard deviations lower than 5.6% ( n = 6). This successfully applied target analytes canal water, drinking taken inlets outlets wastewater treatment plant. results demonstrate that developed has great potential determining samples.
